Comments: HAVE YOU READ mark haddon's book yet?

I had been trying to get my nine year old son diagnoised for 4 years. Nobody seemed to listen to me because he was quiet and obeyed with school rules. After reading the book it gave me hope to challenge the proffesionals and ask questions that I could not have asked before like 'Why was I put on a parenting course when all I was trying to do was get help for my son not me. Why was my child discharged from the speech therapist when he could not pronounce his words. I could go on and on. The book encouaged me to challenge the system and get a diagnoisis of asperger. I also learned from the book to try to think what he may be thinking instead of me taking for granted that I know what he is thinking which I feel makes life a lot easier for the family.

Thanks a lot for your great work if I hadn't read the book my son would still not have been diagnoised. great
